This tool rest gives you a larger support surface from the universal support. It's ideal for sharpening various rounded scrapers for woodturning. The SVD-110 Tool Rest also works perfectly with special woodcarving tools such as hollowing tools and curved drawing knives. You can also use it for card scrapers and cutting blades for woodturning tools, spokeshave and flat-head screwdrivers.

The SVD-110 Tool Rest can be used both with and against the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel. It can also be positioned so that you can use the flat side of the grinding wheel when sharpening card scrapers, for example. Many hard-to-sharpen tools that don't fit in any other jig or have unusual sharpening angles can be sharpened using the SVD-110 Tool Rest, in a number of other positions with a little creativity
