The Makita JS1601 single speed in-line shear weigh just 1.4kg and features a rubberised grip providing the user with more comfort and less fatigue when used for prolonged periods, and a double blade cutting mechanism that will remove a thin strip of the material being cut which will result in less material distortion and a cleaner cut. With a cutting capacity of 1.6mm in mild steel, 1.2mm in stainless steel and 2.5mm in aluminium the Makita JS1601 is not the normal shape for a shear but with its lock on on/off switch the design of this machine will make light work when cutting sheet steel and aluminium. Suitable for sheet metal workers, suspended ceiling contractors and heating and ventilation engineers.
